Getting started

What is Jotterly?

Jotterly is a free platform for community groups, PTAs, sports clubs and parent councils in the UK to run events, take card payments, raise funds and email supporters. All from one place.

There is nothing to download and no contract. You sign up, connect a free Stripe account, and you can start selling tickets the same day.

What can you do with it?

  • Sell tickets to events. Multiple ticket types, time slots, QR codes for the door, and instant card payments.
  • Run fundraising campaigns. Set a goal, track progress, link events to a campaign so every ticket sale counts toward the total.
  • Take donations. A dedicated donation page, plus an optional "add a donation" checkbox at ticket checkout.
  • Manage volunteers. Define the roles you need at an event and let supporters sign up.
  • Send email updates to ticket buyers, donors, members, or your whole mailing list.
  • Check people in with a QR scanner. Works on any phone, no app needed.
  • Keep some events private. Make any event members only so it is hidden from non members.

Who is it for?

Jotterly is built for community groups in the UK that need a simple way to take money from supporters.

That includes:

  • Community groups and voluntary associations
  • PTAs and parent councils at primary and secondary schools
  • Sports clubs (junior football, swimming, athletics)
  • Hobby groups, scout and guide units, after school clubs
  • Charities running fundraising events

If your group sells tickets, takes donations, or needs to keep supporters in the loop, Jotterly is built for you.

What does it cost?

Using Jotterly is entirely free, always. Setting up your community, running free events, managing volunteers, sending emails to supporters: none of it costs anything.

A small Jotterly fee only kicks in when money is actually moving through us. If you sell paid tickets or accept donations, this comes off each transaction:

  • 2.5% on paid ticket sales
  • 1.5% on donations

Stripe processes the card and charges its own fee separately, visible on your Stripe dashboard. Registered charities can apply for Stripe's non profit rate.

At checkout, buyers can choose to cover both fees.
