Jotterly is a product of ExtractMethod Ltd. By using Jotterly, you are agreeing to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What Jotterly does

Jotterly helps community groups, PTAs, sports clubs, parent councils and similar organisations sell tickets, collect donations, sell items through online shops and run fundraising campaigns. It is operated by ExtractMethod Ltd, a company registered in England under company number 07745867.

2. Who can use Jotterly

To use Jotterly you must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be authorised to act on behalf of your organisation
  • provide accurate information when you sign up
  • have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement

3. Your account

When you create an account you agree to:

  • provide accurate information and keep it up to date
  • keep your password secure
  • tell us straight away if you think someone has accessed your account without permission
  • take responsibility for everything that happens under your account

4. Payments and Stripe

Jotterly uses Stripe to process all payments. You will need to connect a Stripe account to collect money through Jotterly. By doing so you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.

Money from ticket sales and donations goes directly into your Stripe account. Jotterly never holds your funds.

5. Fees

Jotterly charges the following fees on paid transactions:

  • 2.5% on ticket sales
  • 1.5% on donations

These are deducted automatically before the remainder is paid into your Stripe account. Stripe charges their own card processing fees on top. See Stripe's pricing page for the current rate, as these may change.

Free events cost nothing. Jotterly is free to use if you are not collecting money.

Platform fees are non-refundable once a transaction has been processed. We will give you 30 days notice of any changes to our fees.

6. Community members and volunteers

Members of your community and volunteers who have offered to help with your events share their personal information with you so that you can stay in touch and run your events. You agree to:

  • only contact members and volunteers about activity for the community they joined
  • handle their data in line with UK GDPR
  • respond to reasonable requests to update, export or delete their data
  • not sell or share their data with third parties without their consent

7. Your responsibilities as an organiser

When you create an event, campaign or shop on Jotterly, you are responsible for:

  • delivering the event, or providing the items you sell, as described
  • fulfilling shop orders and arranging collection or delivery with the buyer
  • setting and communicating your own refund, returns and cancellation policy
  • handling refunds to buyers from your Stripe account

  • complying with all relevant laws and regulations, including consumer law where you sell items
  • handling buyer and attendee data in line with UK GDPR

8. Refunds and cancellations

Refunds to buyers are at the discretion of the event organiser. You can issue full or partial refunds from your Jotterly dashboard at any time.

Stripe's card processing fees are not refunded when a refund is issued. See Stripe's refund documentation for details.
